Venice is a perfect destination for school music tours

Are you wondering where to go on your next music school trip abroad? Venice could be the ideal option. Your students might find a trip to Venice is not only enjoyable but inspiring for their budding musical careers.

Situated on the east coast of Italy, Venice is best known for its canals, gondolas and rustic architecture. Yet, it is also home to some of the world's most unique concert venues, making it a great choice for music students to visit.

One attraction that is worth attending is a concert at Scuola Grande di San Rocco, where world-famous singers and orchestras still perform at. This 15th century school is a good example of Italian design from the period, and your students will be able to appreciate the grandeur of the building most when musicians perform here.

As music fills its large rooms, your students will be able to portray what the school was like hundreds of years ago, as it has held concerts within its walls since it was built.

For an alternative form of concert hall, you might want to see a performance in one of the city's many churches. Chiesa dei Santi Giovanni e Paolo is one such venue, and you may find the bold sound of an orchestra playing in this gothic structure takes your students' breath away.

Out of the city, there is also a wide choice when it comes to music venues and by taking your school group on excursions into the Venetian hinterland, they'll be able to see live outdoor performances. Read more about school trips to Venice
