SHANGHAI
Shanghai is China's principal port and commercial centre and the largest city in
China with a population of 1.4 billion. The Jade Buddha Temple built in 1882, is a well-preserved monastery of Zen
Buddhism.
The most famous garden in Shanghai is Yu Garden, built 600 years ago during the Ming Dynasty. Along the banks of the Huangpu River, is the picturesque Bund, the symbol of Shanghai.

Day 1
Fly from London to Beijing.
Day 2
Arrive in
Beijing in the afternoon and transfer by coach to your hotel for evening meal.

Arrive in Xian and transfer to your hotel to freshen up. Excursion to the
Wild Goose Pagoda and the
City Walls.

Full day to visit the
Terracotta Army and the Hua Qing Hot Springs. Late afternoon flight to Shanghai. Transfer to the ancient town of Suzhou and your hotel.
Day 7
Visit the
Wangshi Garden, the
Silk Mill and the Embroidery Institute. Take a cruise on the
Grand Canal. Afternoon drive to Shanghai and your hotel.
Day 8
Visit the Yu Garden, the
Jade Buddah Temple, and the
Bund, the lively waterfront by the
Huangkpu River. In the evening depart on the overnight train to Beijing.
Day 9
Arrive in Beijing in the early morning and transfer to your hotel for breakfast and a rest. In the afternoon walk through the "Hutong" area of old Beijing. Free time for shopping in Wangfujing Street.
Day 10
After breakfast transfer to the airport for your return flight.

Xian
The capital of Shaanxi Province in China's ancestral heartland, Xian is the start of the ancient Silk Road. Over the centuries, Xian
was capital to no fewer than 11 different dynasties including the Han and Tang who built imperial palaces in the city.
In 1974 with the unearthing of the Terracotta Warriors, Xian became world famous as a major site on the Unesco World Heritage list.
Suzhou
Suzhou is an ancient city, 2500 years old, famous for traditional Chinese private gardens and silk production. Its many
rivers, canals and bridges give Suzhou the name "the Venice of the Orient". Suzhou is only 1 hour from Shanghai by car / train. The most famous tourist attractions include the Grand Canal, built 1000 years ago. This is the longest man-made canal in the world with a total length of 1794 km.

and in addition, a local guide will escort you on each excursion.
Flights - Our flights are with Scheduled airlines. Flight time is approx. 10 hours. For internal flights, the journey between Beijing and Xian may be taken by air in one / both directions at a supplement.

Meals Provided
Full board is provided throughout commencing with your evening meal on day 2 and ending with breakfast on the last day.
Breakfast is international buffet style. Lunch & dinner are formal Chinese style. Packed meals may be supplied for overnight train
travel. You may wish to opt for a Western style lunch once or twice for variety.
