Loire Valley France

The Garden of France, the Loire Valley is an area of outstanding natural beauty renowned for its chateaux and its wine! Visits to the impressive chateaux at Chenonceau, Blois, Amboise and others should not be missed but there are many other interesting sights to see in the area.

The Chateau du Clos Lucé in Amboise houses a fascinating collection of the work of Leonardo da Vinci, and at Chinon you can visit the place where Richard the Lionheart died and where Joan of Arc was laid to rest.

We can arrange a visit to a wine cellar to learn how wine is produced or you can see how mushrooms are grown in caves. It is also easy to make a day trip to the amazing Futuroscope theme park.

Sample Itinerary - FRANCE

4 days by COACH to Loire Valley
Day 1
Early departure from school by coach to catch the morning ferry from Dover to Calais. Continue to your hotel for evening meal (first meal). Travelling time Calais to resort: 7 hours approx.
Day 2-3
We will arrange a programme of visits for you with free use of coach subject to driver's hours regulations.
Days 4
Travel to Calais with packed lunches for the return ferry to Dover.
Extra Day
Make the most of your stay by adding an extra day. Price available on request.
