Venice Italy
Founded in the 6th Century after the Fall of Rome by refugees, this most graceful of cities was built in the shallows of the lagoon and rests on gigantic alderwood piles, some of them centuries old. The city is a maze of canals and waterways, little alleys, squares, bridges, markets, churches and crumbling palaces.
The city we see today is still the city of the Doges who made Venice a great republic and the major maritime trading power in the world. It is a living museum of superb architecture quite unique in the world. Take a vaporetto down the Grand Canal, one of the world's greatest tours, for the price of a bus ticket!
Sample Itinerary - Italy
Day 1
Fly from London to Venice/Treviso (flight time 2 hours). Transfer to your hotel transfer time 1 hour approximately. Evening meal (first meal) at a nearby restaurant.
Days 2-3
At leisure in Venice with choice of excursion programme.
Day 4
After breakfast (last meal) transfer from your hotel to Venice airport for return flight to London.
Extra Day
