History Excursions

  • Tiananmen Square - The Tiananmen Square is the largest city square in the world.  It has been the site of many events, among which a gathering of pro-democracy protesters in 1989 which resulted in what is now known as the Tiananmen Massacre. (BEIJING)
  • Forbidden City - The Forbidden City was the Chinese imperial palace  from the Ming Dynasty to the end of the Qing Dynasty. (BEIJING)
  • Summer Palace - The Summer Palace is mainly dominated by Longevity Hill and the Kunming Lake.  UNESCO included the Summer Palace on its World Heritage List. It declared the Summer Palace "a masterpiece of Chinese landscape garden design".(BEIJING)
  • Great Wall of China - One of the World's greatest wonders, With a history of more than 2000 years, it is still one of the most visited attractions all around the world owing to its architectural grandeur and historical significance. (BEIJING)
  • Ming Tombs - Perfectly preserved mausoleums of 13 emperors of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). (BEIJING)
  • Temple of Heaven - Complex of Taoist buildings situated in the southeastern part of central Beijing. (BEIJING)
  • Wild Goose Pagoda - Buddhist pagoda built in 652 during the Tang Dynasty, located in southern Xi'an, Shaanxi province, China. (XIAN)
  • Bell Tower - The tower was built in 1384 by Emperor Zhu Yuanzhang as a way to dominate the surrounding countryside and provide early warning of attack by rival rulers. (XIAN)
  • Drum Tower Square - The Drum Tower in Xian was initially built in 1380 during the reign of Emperor Hongwu of the Ming Dynasty. (XIAN).
  • Terra-Cotta Army Museum - Built on the site of the terra-cotta warriors and horses pits in the Emperor Qin's Mausoleum, the museum covers an area of 190,000 square meters.(XIAN)
  • Banpo Neolithic Village Museum -  The remains of this village, located just east of Xian and inhabited from about 4500 B.C. to 3750 B.C., were discovered in 1953 and the museum built shortly after.  It gives an insight to life in the neolithic ages.(XIAN).
  • Tang Dynasty Show - A combination of dance and acrobatics performance originating from China's Tang Dynasty over a 1000 years ago.(XIAN)
