Geography Excursions

  • Island of Brehat - The island is famous for its pink granite rocks, very mild micro-climate and Mediterranean vegetation, due to the warm Gulf Stream coming from across the Atlantic.
  • Rance Dam - Built in the 1960's, the Rance Dam is the oldest and largest tidal power dam in the world. It uses the strength of the tides to produce electricity, making it a unique tidal power station.
