History School & College Tours to the Loire Valley
Visit the Loire Valley and experience one of France’s most beautiful and educationally rich regions. History groups will marvel at the incredible Troglodyte Village in Doué la Fontaine and the pre-historic caves of Savonnières. History Excursions
- Blois - The Château was built in the Middle Ages. It peaked in 1498 when Louis XII moved the Royal Residence from Amboise to Blois.
- Amboise - Built in the 15th and 16th Centuries in an Italian style.
- Chambord - The design is a combination of Italian Renaissance and traditional Medieval Castle.
- Chaumont - Built in the late 15th Century by the Amboise family. Catherine de Medici took possession in 1560.
- Troglodyte Village (Doué la Fontaine) - Take a step back in time and visit the Troglodyte Village and its museum. The museum reveals a community of two ancient farms and their associated dwellings which have been carved out of the local stone in a quarry type setting.
- Pre-historic caves (Savonnières) - The caves contain a collection of stalagmites and stalactites, an underground lake, a Gallo-Roman cemetery, and a model of a large and fearsome prehistoric lizard.
