Food for Thought School & College Tours to Opal Coast
A trip to the Opal Coast will fulfil every student’s curiosity about French culture and food. Groups will be able to visit the region’s many traditional food producers and taste their delicious products and visits the region’s many market towns where pupils will explore various traditional French foods.

- Traditional cheese making, Fruges - Learn how the cheese was traditionally made
- Le Succes Berckois sweet makers, Berck - Learn about and enjoy a tasting at a sweet factory
Curriculum Focus
- Learn about and practise a range of practical food skills/methods/processes to produce quality outcomes
- Learn about the impact and effect of using a range of different equipment to produce food items of quality and consistency
- Explore how quality control checks are used to produce consistent food products on a commercial scale
