Our Golden Triangle tour will give students an insight into India’s main historical cities and sites. Groups will stay in vibrant Delhi with the impressive 13th century Qutab Minar and Red Fort and will have the have the opportunity to compare this side of the city with an excursion to the British built “New Delhi”. Overwhelm your students with the sheer beauty and incredible history of the Taj Mahal in Agra and on the border of the Rajasthan desert, the pink city of Jaipur will enlighten students to the origins of India’s first planned city.
History Excursions
- Red Fort - The largest of Old Delhi's monuments is Lal Quila or Red Fort whose thick red sandstone walls, bulging with turrets and bastions, have withstood time and nature Jama Masjid - Located near the Red Fort is the largest Mosque in India. (DELHI)
- Chandani Chowk - One of Delhi's main shopping hubs. The market was once visited by merchants from Turkey, China and even Holland.
- Raj Ghat - Visit Ghandi's resting place, Raj Ghat.
- New Delhi - Have a guided tour of New Delhi
- India Gate - India Gate is constructed as a memorial and was built in the memory of 90,00 soldiers who laid down their lives during World War I.
- Humayun's Tomb - The Tomb is of great cultural significance as it was the first garden-tomb on the Indian subcontinent. It inspired several major architectural innovations, culminating in the construction of the Taj Mahal.
- Qutab Minar - The tallest monument in India can be seen from any part of the city.
- Taj Mahal - Visit one of the world's most stunning monuments in the morning and witness the marble wonder by the
light of the rising sun. (AGRA) - Agra Fort - It is the most important fort in India. The great Mugals, Humayun, Akbar, Jehangir, Shah Jahan and Aurangzeb lived here, and the country was governed from here
- Itmad-ud-Daulah Tomb - Often described as 'jewel box', sometimes called the 'Baby Tāj', the tomb of I'timād-ud-Daulah is often regarded as a draft of the Taj Mahal.
- Pink City - Guided tour of the Pink City of Jaipur. (JAIPUR)
- City Palace - The beautiful palace was built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh during his reign. Among the various forts and palaces of Jaipur, City Palace stands apart, with its outstanding art and architecture.
- Jantar-Mantar Observatory - The Jantar Mantar is a collection of architectural astronomical instruments, built by Maharaja (Ruler) Jai Singh II
- Sanganear - Sanganer is renowned for its crafts and hand-printed textiles. Students will learn about the art of hand made paper
- Print factory - Learn about the interesting process of "block printing" on fabric.
- Amber Fort - The crystal mirror image of the Fort, on the still waters of the lake, seems to be a beautiful illusion. he interior of the Fort provides a soothing and warm ambience, which is least expected from its outer appearance. The marvelous decoration of the Amer Fort is influenced by both, the Hindu and Muslim manner of ornamentation.
- Palace of the Winds - Constructed at a time when royal ladies observed very strict purdah (covering the faces), it is widely believed that this interesting palace, with its screened balconies, provided the ladies of the royal household an opportunity to watch processions and other activities on the streets below without being observed themselves.
