History School & College Tours to Moscow & St Petersburg

A history study trip to Moscow & St Petersburg will marvel students with wonderful scenery and an unparalleled historic heritage.  Groups will have guided visits to both cities and visits the countries most spectacular historic sights.  In the capital students will be overwhelmed by the majestic Red Square containing Lenin’s Tomb, the astonishing Kremlin with its fortified walls and many buildings overlooking the Moskva River and St Basil’s Cathedral.  Arguably one of the most beautiful cities in Europe, St Petersburg is the creation of Peter the Great and known as the “Venice of the North” due to its wealth of canals.  Although the city is incredibly young it is filled with 17th and 18th century historical Palaces and monuments that will inspire your students.

History Excursions

  • Armoury Museum - See the 50 Fabergé eggs and the beautiful 190 carat Orlov diamond. There are also the Tsars’ and Tsarinas’ coronation crowns, robes and carriages. 
  • Central Museum of the Revolution - Exhibits from the 1905 Revolution through to a complete account of the revolution and coups of the early 1990s.
  • Kremlin - The heart of Moscow and of the Russian State itself, the Kremlin (literally meaning ‘fortified town’) is a walled fortress dating back to the city’s founding in 1147. The red-brick walls and towers enclose a number of churches and palaces and, once past the soviet-era Palace of Congresses, the visitor will find a pleasing ensemble around the main square.
