Many excursions offer free entry, as well as tailored scientific talks, tours and educational programs. Our suggested itinerary below focusses on physics and biology, with interactive visits to the iconic Science Museum, Natural History Museum and Ripley’s Believe it or not.

London Accommodation - Royal National Hotel

In terms of value and location the Royal National hotel is second to none in London.

Location: Located just off central Russell Square the hotel is opposite the British Museum and walking distance from the West End.

Facilities: As well as a sizeable restaurant the hotel also offers a cafe and bar area in the reception area as well as meeting rooms and a gift shop. The hotel is entirely wheelchair accessible.

Accommodation: Twin or triple rooms are normally offered for students with singles or twins for staff. All rooms are en-suite with televisions and tea & coffee making facilities.

Meals: Breakfast is served daily in the hotel’s restaurant and evening meals are also available.

London Accommodation - Generator Hostel

Generator Hostel

  • Great value central base for exploring London
  • Ideal for groups on a budget

This popular hostel offers quite simply the best value central accommodation for student groups in the capital.

Location: A short walk from Russell Square the hostel is a stone’s throw from the West End and all of the city’s major attractions.

Facilities: Showers and toilet facilities on every floor. The hostel offers a restaurant and bar on-site as well as pool tables, meeting room and Wi-Fi.

Accommodation: Basic dorm room with 6, 8 and 12 bedded options for students. Single and twins available for staff. All rooms equipped with wash basins

Meals: Daily breakfast is served in the restaurant along with evening meals if required.

The London Eye

Night or day The London Eye offers spectacular views of London from high above the River Thames. Famous landmarks to be seen include Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament, St. Paul’s Cathedral, Buckingham Palace and Westminster Abbey.

Location: Positioned on-site of the Eden Project which is a short distance from the coastline.

This centrally located hostel style accommodation ideal for groups and reasonably priced.

Location: The hostel is located only a couple of minutes’ walk to Newquay centre and 5 minutes by coach to Lusty Glaze Beach.

Facilities: There is a games room with a pool table, darts, and table football as well as TVs, you can also make use of the hostel's secure surf board storage.

Accommodation: All rooms are secure, clean and private and there is a variety of dorm room sizes which all benefit from en suite bathroom facilities and some with picturesque views of the beach.

The stunning Garden of Heligan will provide a unique view of nature and natural habitats as well as conservation and protection. An excellent excursion for a science trip to Cornwall.

Eden Project

Home to the world's largest greenhouse, the Eden Project takes a dynamic approach towards investigating the interdependence between plants and people. Its two huge domes contain artificial biomes that mimic Tropical and Mediterranean environments, with temperate species found in the Outdoor Biome.

National Lobster Hatching Centre

The National Lobster Hatchery is one of the few marine biology laboratories in the world that is open to visitors. Discover first hand the fascinating progression of a lobster from egg to adult and learn about our own conservation and research work.

Blue Reef Aquarium

The Blue Reef Aquarium in Tynemouth offers many group visits to suit all age groups and abilities, with the aim of giving the opportunity for groups to learn about the different and amazing marine life in our seas and oceans around the world.
