The health and safety of our school groups is our primary concern. We promote safety awareness to our suppliers through our Safety Management System (SMS). This document sets out standards required for each component of our tours. Audits are completed yearly to guarantee that our service providers meet all safety regulations and have appropriate documentation.
In addition, we understand the challenges party leaders face when organising school trips so in order to help you ensure the tour is as safe as possible, we are happy to help with risk assessments and any other safety planning. If you would like to read our SMS in more detail, please click here. To view our SMS Pre-Tour Safety Guide, kindly click this link.
We are a full member of the School Travel Forum, and abide with its rigorous code of practice and safety management
standards which meet the requirements of DfES guidelines.
These are externally verified each year by suitably qualified independent Health and Safety professionals.
The School Travel Forum Code of Practice has been developed with all the
major Teachers Associations and Unions including NAHT, AHSCL, ATL,
NASUWT, NUT, PAT and by the Outdoor Education Advisors' Panel. Details of
the School Travel Forum Code of Practice are available from

Equity recommends the Dfes Advice booklet. This 72-page booklet offers national guidance to teachers planning an educational visit. Details of useful documents are also provided alongside contact information for governing bodies, associations, and others involved in educational visits. Although the booklet is primarily for staff in schools and local education authorities in the UK, it may be useful for staff in further education colleges and youth organisations.
You can rely on us to get it right in the first place but should the unexpected happen we have the knowledge and the resources to resolve any issues. Once you are on tour, Equity staff are on duty night and day, equipped with full details of your tour and ready to go into action if you need us. Our support service runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week so you can rely on us in the event of any problems.
