Subject Specific Excursions

Epidavros

Epidavros is the best preserved of all ancient theatres in Greece, with a capacity of 14.000 seats and incomparable acoustics. In summer it presents theatrical performances of great ancient Greek dramatists as Aeschylus, Sophocles, Aristophanes and many others.

Nafplion

A colourful town with culture, history and natural beauty, Nafplion boasts many waterfront cafeterias and a wide variety of shops and tavernas in the alleys of the old town.

Mycenae

Mycenae was the legendary home of the Atreides - victors in the Trojan War. Situated on a small hill-top on the lower slopes of Euboea Mountain north of Corinth, Mycenae was inhabited from around 4000 BC and civilization flourished there until about 1350-1200 BC. The views from this ancient city are simply stunning.

Acropolis

The greatest and finest sanctuary of ancient Athens, dedicated primarily the goddess Athena, dominates the centre of the modern city from the rocky crag known as the Acropolis. The most celebrated myths of ancient Athens, its greatest religious festivals, earliest cults and several decisive events in the city's history are all connected to this monument. These unique masterpieces of ancient architecture have influenced art and culture for many centuries.

Theatre of Dionysus

The Theatre of Dionysus was the first stone theatre ever built, cut into the cliff face of the Acropolis. It is dedicated to the god of plays and wine.
