School trips to Salzburg
One of Europe's most picturesque and popular cities, Salzburg, on the brim of the Austrian Alps, will inspire your students, with Mozart's musical legacy, the gorgeous and relaxing river banks, incredible views from the Hohensalzburg Fortress and the lively atmosphere felt throughout the city.
Students can rehearse their German language skills to be used in a shopping scenario before venturing into one of the many markets to taste Mozartkugel (a traditional Austrian sweet made up of pistachio marzipan, nougat and chocolate) and Wiener Melange (Austrian coffee). Enhance their understanding of the Austrian art scene and add music terminology to their repertoire, by attending a concert at Mirabell Castle or listening to the glockenspiel in Residenz Square. Interact with the locals at informal coffee shops and university cafes, then head to the hills and sing along to the Sound of Music as they take a hike up Monchsberg Mountain.

Guided Tour of Salzburg
Get to grips with this stunning city, which is cut through by the Salzach River, crowned by a cliff-top fortress and watched over by majestic mountains. Experience the listed buildings of Altstadt, see Mozart’s birthplace and order cake in historic coffee shops.
Hellbrunn Palace
One of Salzburg’s top attractions, this magnificent 17th century palace was built in the Italian style by bishop Markus Sittikus. Best known for its beautiful gardens and ‘trick’ fountains, Hellbrunn reveals the humour and character of the era.
Hohensalzburg Fortress
One of Europe’s largest medieval castles stands on a cliff-top, overlooking the city of Salzburg. This 11th century fortress is remarkably well-preserved and contains medieval rooms, a romantic courtyard, eerie dungeons, grand state rooms and a museum.
Stephansplatz
In the heart of Vienna, Stephansplatz square is home to the Stephansdom Cathedral – one of the world’s tallest churches. Step inside the cathedral, explore the charming side streets, browse the surrounding shops and observe everyday life in Vienna.
Alter Markt Square
Salzburg’s Old Marketplace is surrounded by outdoor cafes, stately burgher's houses and beautiful buildings, which date back to medieval times. A venue for markets throughout the ages, the stunning St Florian Fountain stands in the centre of the square.
