Equity School travel to brussels

School Trips to Brussels

Although Brussels is the de facto capital of the European Union, not all of the city’s excursions and attractions are completely serious or political.

Have you ever wondered what Europe would look like from a bird’s eye view? Wonder no more on a visit to Mini Europe, described as the best miniature park in Europe. Ever wondered why the Manneken Pis fountain sculpture (don't laugh) has been stolen seven times? Let your students learn about its significance to the city.

Of course, there is another side to Brussels. NATO and the European Parliament have their homes here, and there are over 100 museums dedicated to international culture, making school trips to Brussels the perfect option for Politics and History students.

On the other hand, paying a visit to the iconic Atomium will give budding scientists an in-depth view of how the atom works, while visiting the Planetarium will give you a view of the constellations like never before. Head on over on a day trip to the Euro Space Center in Libin and your students will experience what it’s like to be an astronaut for a day. For the motoring enthusiasts, a trip to Autoworld will quench the thirst with over 400 cars on display, as well as displaying a time-line outlining how motor manufacturing has changed over the years.

Mini Europe is a great place to spend a few hours, allowing your students to take lots of fun photos, marvel at the tiny structures and learn more about the significance of the European Union.

Often referred to as the symbol of Brussels and Belgium, the Atomium is the city’s top attraction. This futuristic structure features a viewing platform with panoramic views of the city. Students can also explore the inside of the Atomium’s structure which is often compared to the inside of a spaceship! There are also a variety of exhibitions where your group can learn about the Atomium’s history and its significance to Belgium.

Museum of Natural Sciences

Visit the largest Dinosaur Gallery in the whole of Europe at Brussels Museums of Natural Sciences. Learn about how the human body evolved, study over 1000 different specimens and get up close to gigantic dinosaur skeletons.

Euro Space Center

Your students will absolutely love the Euro Space Center. Located in Transinne, about an hour and a half coach drive away from Brussels, the Euro Space Center is an attraction like no other. Using simulators and VR technology, feel what it’s like to train to be an astronaut and walk on the moon. Discover the mysteries of our universe at the Planetarium and learn everything there is to know about space at the center’s themed exhibitions.
