School trips to Lake Garda
Lake Garda is the largest of the Italian lakes ideally located for exciting excursions being just 30 km from Verona, 100 km from Milan and 130 km from Venice. The more rugged northern shore is surrounded by the Dolomites and in some places steep cliffs drop straight into the lakeside.
The southern shore has a softer landscape with beaches, olive groves, lemon trees and vineyards. Boats ply the lake making it possible to explore by water rather than just by coach. There are pretty villages, theme parks, excellent markets, gardens and cultural centres all in close proximity making Lake Garda an excellent central location for a study trip, with a wide array of cultural excursions on offer.
Lake Garda is a popular option for many of our Performing Arts and Music groups. With stunning backdrops, delicious Italian food and a warm Mediterranean climate, what more could you ask for!

Malcesine Cable Car
For an outstanding view over Lake Garda there is nothing to beat a ride on the Malcesine cableway, which rises to 1,600m in just ten minutes and reaches an altitude of 1760m at the top of Monte Baldo. On a clear day you can see the whole of the lake, from Riva to Peschiera del Garda; a truly breathtaking panorama.

A 2.5 hour workshop with a theoretical introduction to Venetian Masks and the unique opportunity to decorate and take home your own mask.
Day trip to Venice
Take a day trip to the beautiful canal city of Venice. There are a wide variety of sights you can see in a day here including St Mark’s Square, Doge’s Palace, Ponte dell’Accademia (one of the most famous views in Venice) and finish the day off with a relaxing canal boat trip.
Sirmione
Sirmione is one of the most attractive towns located around the southern bank of Lake Garda, which can be accessed by coach or on a boat trip. Walk the walls of the beautiful Scaligero Castle; an ancient fortress offering scenic views of Lake Garda and the town. Visit the old town, make your way around the atmospheric cobbled streets and explore Grotte di Catullo; the ruins of an ancient Roman villa.
Bardolino
Bardolino is another attractive resort found on the south side of Lake Garda. The town is well known for its production of olive oil and wine. This hidden gem offers attractive views of its marina, the rolling countryside and plenty of authentic buildings and cobbled streets, just waiting to be explored by your students.
Day trip to Verona
The medieval city of Verona is just over an hours’ coach drive away from Lake Garda. Many people visit this picturesque city in search of Juliet’s Balcony to recreate the famous scene from Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. The city also offers countless churches, superb shopping, pretty piazzas and a beautiful river which cuts through the centre of Verona.
