School trips to Marrakech
Fire-eaters and fortune-tellers, spice-markets and snake-charmers. Spicy tagines and saffron couscous, freshly baked flat breads and sweet mint tea. The ancient medina and the modern city, bustling streets and botanical gardens. Marrakesh is home to the largest souk in Morocco and one of the busiest city squares in the world.
Study sustainability in the souk, as you pass leather-workers, cobblers and potters. Look up from the labyrinth streets to see the towering Koutoubia Mosque. Discover Moroccan artefacts in the Museum of Marrakesh, relax in the Majorelle Gardens, or explore Berber crafts and culture in the Dar Si Saïd Museum. Join the locals in Djemaa El-Fna square to slurp garlic snails and sip freshly squeezed orange juice as you listen to Berber storytellers and Moroccan musicians. Take a horse-drawn carriage tour around the city walls and take in the ochre sandstone buildings that give Marrakesh its name – The Red City. Contrast the riads and stalls of the old medina with the luxury hotels and offices of the modern city.
In around three hours flight time, student groups will find themselves in an entirely new world. We offer an excellent choice of accommodation, with safety, comfort and convenience at the forefront of our selection. Overflowing with fascinating culture and rich history, whether you choose to focus your studies on Marrakesh, or use it as a base to explore Morocco’s rural and mountain landscapes, this city never fails to impress.
