School Trips to Granada
Set against the stunning backdrop of Sierra Nevada, Granada is a beautiful city steeped in history with a mix of traditional whitewashed houses and both Islamic and Catholic architecture. No school trip to Granada would be complete without an excursion to the majestic Moorish Alhambra Palace, one of most spectacular Islamic structures in Europe. There are plenty of highlights to enjoy whilst in Granada such as Generalife or take a stroll through the Albaicin (Granada’s old Muslim quarter). Students can also watch an authentic Flamenco performance and practice their Spanish language skills by asking for some mouth-watering tapas.

Alhambra Palace & Generalife
The iconic Alhambra Palace (whose name derives from the Arabic for Red Castle) is not to be missed. This Moorish fortified palace is truly stunning with opportunities to explore the Generalife summer residence and gardens.
Science Museum
Parque de las Ciencias is an interactive museum spanning over 70000m2, just a few minutes on foot from the historic centre. There are a wide variety of exhibitions to choose from including: the human body, risk perception, innovations, eco systems and the universe.
Cooking Lessons
Students can try their hands at creating and tasting traditional Spanish dishes – from paella, to tortilla and gazpacho. The lessons are usually delivered in Spanish giving students the opportunity to test their understanding of the language, although groups can request a translator if required.
Flamenco Lessons
Students can learn some simple dance steps of the expressive Spanish originated dance form. They can then put into practice their learning with an atmospheric guitar accompaniment.
Art Workshops
Inspired by the art of the Alhambra, students can have a go at creating their own glazed tiles or Arabic plaster embossing.
La Cartuja Monastery
Once the home of Carthusian monks and described as "the grandest and most outrageously decorated Carthusian monastery in Spain”, the current monastery dates back to the 14th century and is designed in a Baroque style.
Interactive Language Activities
Language students can engage in a variety of activities with a focus on learning Spanish. There are guided city and cathedral tours, a treasure hunt with ‘churros’ and an evening tapas tour to choose from.
Granada Cathedral
Granada’s cathedral is an impressive structure on the site of a former mosque. The building is a fine example of Spanish renaissance and Gothic architecture, where the works of famed Spanish Renaissance artists can be found.
Granada bullring
Popularly known as the Monumental del Frascuelo, groups can visit one of Granada’s architectural marvels – the Bullring of Granada. Groups can enjoy a guided tour of its bull pens and chapel, as well as learn about the history of bullfighting at the Granada Bullfighting Museum.
