Mont Orgueil Castle, or Gorey Castle as it was first known, has cast its imposing shadow over the beautiful fishing port of Gorey for more than 800 years. One of the finest examples of a medieval fortress in existence, it is also a symbol of Jersey’s national identity and independent character.
St Brelade’s Bay
This beautiful Jersey beach is one of island’s most popular, loved by visitors for its golden sand and safe swimming. There is plenty to do there including family-friendly activities and watersports, beach cafes and seaside restaurants, beach walks and plenty of space to relax and enjoy the view.
St Helier
The capital of the island of Jersey, St. Helier is well-known for its award-winning museums and attractions which reflect its seafaring history and the harrowing story of Jersey’s 5-year occupation by the Germans during WWII.
War Tunnels
During World War II Jersey became occupied by German forces. The tunnels dug by slave workers from nations across Europe now contain an underground collection of thought provoking exhibits that tell the fascinating story of Jersey’s occupation from resistance, through to starvation, then eventual liberation.
