Subject Specific Excursions
The Hermitage Museum
Not only does the Hermitage boast one of the world's greatest art collections, the museum is also worth a visit for its extravagant interior. The Winter Palace in particular is magnificent, with its marvellous Jordan Staircase and dazzling splendour of the many state rooms.
Yusupov Palace
Also known as the Moika Palace, this building was the site of Grigori Rasputin’s murder in 1916 and showcases a wealth of history of the House of Yusupov and a range of architectural styles.
St Peter & Paul Fortress
The fortress never really saw any action because the Russians had defeated the Swedes before its completion. Instead it was used as a garrison and a jail for political prisoners and there was also a torture-chamber. Many well-known individuals were jailed there through the centuries.
Nevsky Prospect
Enjoy a tour with your group of the main street in the city of St Petersburg, learning about the famous sights on the way. .
