History school trips to Japan
From Shogun Emperors to the devastation of the Second World War, Japan has a long and fascinating history to explore. Students can marvel at the regeneration of Tokyo into a global hub of financial wealth after its near destruction by US bombing.
Explore the impact of the atomic bomb at the Peace Memorial in Hiroshima, part of Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Students can explore themes such as Japan's post-war relations with countries it occupied during the 1930s and 1940s.
Visits to Shinto shrines, such as the Fushimi Inari Shrine, and Buddhist temples such as the Todaiji Temple, are an important way for students to discover the significant role of religion and how it has shaped the country.
